The Von Duprin 996L-DT is a dummy lever trim — a non-functional decorative lever that does not retract the latch. Used as a finished pull on the outside of a dogged exit device. The lever is rigid in all positions.
Compatible with: Von Duprin 98 Series, 99 Series exit devices that support dogging.
Dummy function. Lever is rigid and ornamental only. Pull-activated entry when device is dogged. No latch retraction.
Mounts via included screws. Device must support dogging for pull operation. Specify lever style and handing.
Dogging holds the exit device latch in the retracted position. With 996L-DT installed, customers can pull the lever to open the door because the latch is already retracted by the dogging feature.
The lever is functional as a pull handle, but it does not retract the latch. The device itself must be dogged.
996L-DT has a lever-style handle (matches your other 996L trim aesthetics). 990DT has a traditional pull handle. Both are decorative-only.
