The Von Duprin 996L-RV is the active classroom-function lever trim for 98/99 Series Rim and Vertical Rod exit devices. Outside cylinder controls the lever — key locks/unlocks it. When unlocked, the lever retracts the latch for normal entry. When locked, the lever is rigid and exit-only operation is required from inside.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a separate cylinder?
Yes. The 996L-RV requires a rim cylinder, which is sold separately. Allegion or Schlage rim cylinders with the appropriate keying are typical.
What's the difference between 996L-RV and 996L-NL-RV?
996L-RV is classroom function (key locks/unlocks lever). 996L-NL-RV is nightlatch function (key only momentarily retracts the latch; lever is always rigid).
What lever styles are available?
03 (Galaxy lever), 06 (standard lever), 07 (rhodes), and 17 (Vandlgard) — all in stocked finishes.
What's the difference between this and the Mortise version?
The Rim/Vertical Rod version (996L-RV) attaches to 98/99 Rim and Vertical Rod devices. The Mortise version (996L-M) is for 9875/9975 mortise exit devices. Use the Lock Type selector above to switch.
